PUBLIC NOTICE
Town of Winnsboro
The Town of Winnsboro is advising residents and businesses that Level 1 drought conditions are currently in effect due to continued dry weather and below-average rainfall affecting the region.
In coordination with state and regional drought management agencies, citizens are encouraged to voluntarily conserve water in order to protect the community’s water supply and reduce the risk of more severe restrictions if drought conditions worsen.
Voluntary Water Conservation Measures
Residents and businesses are encouraged to:
Limit outdoor lawn and landscape watering
Avoid washing driveways, sidewalks, and vehicles unnecessarily
Repair leaking faucets, toilets, and irrigation systems
Operate dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads
Reduce overall non-essential water use
At this time, these measures are voluntary; however, continued conservation is strongly encouraged to help preserve local water resources.
The Town will continue monitoring conditions in cooperation with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resourcesand regional drought authorities. Additional restrictions may be implemented if conditions deteriorate.
